St Edmund Hall approached B&M to elevate the design and overall impact of their Aularian magazine while retaining the existing A4 saddle-stitched format. After reviewing the publication, we immediately saw an opportunity to transform it into a more engaging and visually compelling publication through format and design improvements.
We presented three distinct concepts: a refined version of the existing design, a complete redesign within the same A4 format, and a bold reimagining featuring a new format and layout that would transform the magazine into an accurate magazine-style publication.
After reviewing the printed mockups, the client instantly gravitated toward the third concept – a total transformation. The new Aularian now features a contemporary size, fresh typography, and a sophisticated, perfect-bound finish. The result is a sleek, professional magazine with a lasting impression.
The revamped publication is now feature-led, with larger images and lengthier articles organized into clear, logical sections. This new structure not only enhances readability but also establishes a strong foundation for future issues.
